Product safety information
As an international producer of metals, materials and chemicals Elkem is fully committed to ensure product safety and to comply with international regulatory requirements.
Please find below the various Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Product Safety Information (PSI) for the various markets Elkem Silicon Products serves.
What is the difference between Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Product Safety Information (PSI)?
SDS are only required for substances and mixtures that meet the harmonised criteria for physical, health or environmental hazards, in accordance with the UN Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) and the European CLP regulation.
In order to clearly differentiate between hazardous and non-hazardous products, as well as to communicate relevant HSE-(health, safety and environmental-) information for substances and mixtures that do not meet these classification criteria, Elkem provides product safety information (PSI) instead.
Please note that requirements such as exposure scenarios and specific language versions do not apply for non-hazardous products. An important notion for our valued customers is that they still fully comply with chemicals legislation (REACH & CLP) by accepting PSI in English language.
